The Problem:

Many people lack awareness about the risks of skin cancer and don't have easy access to preventative care or reliable information. This gap in education and resources can lead to delayed diagnoses and increased health risks.

The Solution:

To make skin-cancer prevention more accessible, we created SPOTlight, a social pop-up experience that provides on-site skin checks and approachable educational tools. SPOTlight empowers individuals to learn, get screened, and take proactive steps in protecting their skin and health.

50% of people we surveyed spend 1-2 hours a day outdoors, showing that many people risk exposure to the harsh uv rays of the sun.

68% of people said that they don’t know what to look for when checking themselves for skin cancer, this shows the need for professional help.

41% of people said that skin care is a very serious issue to them, which suggests that many may not be fully aware of skin cancer.

45% of people said that they would attend a free skin cancer screening, showing that nearly half are open to taking preventative action when given accessible options.
